Partnership Ads¶
Create branded content ads that feature a creator or partner's Instagram identity while showing your brand as the sponsor. Works for image, video, and carousel ads.
What Are Partnership Ads?¶
Partnership ads (also called branded content ads) let you run ads that:
- Appear to come from the partner's Instagram account
- Show "Paid partnership with [Your Brand]" disclosure
- Leverage the creator's audience trust and authenticity
Quick Setup¶
Add the partner's Instagram username to your ad:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
partner_instagram_username |
@creator_handle (with or without @) |
Pablo then:
- Looks up the partner's Instagram Business Account
- Attempts to resolve their connected Facebook Page from your approved-partners list
- Configures the branded content settings on the creative
See Field Schema for full field details.
If page resolution fails, the ad still builds — with mixed identity. Step 2 depends on the partner appearing in your account's approved-partners list. When the lookup can't resolve their Page (not yet approved, API hiccup), Pablo does not stop the build: the ad is created with the partner's Instagram identity but your Facebook Page. Check the preview — if the Facebook side shows your page where you expected the partner's, that's the reason. API users can force the partner's page explicitly via
partner_facebook_page_id(this override is API-only; the Notion integration doesn't read it).
Requirements¶
Account-level approval required. Pablo uses account-level branded content permissions, not content-level (per-post) approval. The partner must add your brand to their approved partners list before you create ads. Content-level approval workflows are not supported.
Your Account (Advertiser)¶
- Facebook Page with connected Instagram Business/Creator account
- Active Meta connection in Pablo, authorized with the
instagram_branded_content_ads_brandpermission (connections made before this permission was added need to be re-connected)
Partner Account¶
- Instagram Business or Creator account (not personal)
- Must approve your brand at the account level in their Instagram Branded Content settings:
- Partner goes to Instagram → Settings → Business → Branded Content → Approved Business Partners
- Adds your brand as an approved partner
Template Ad¶
The sponsor ("Paid partnership with …") identity comes from your template ad (destination_template_ad_id):
- The template ad's Facebook Page must have a connected Instagram Business account — the build fails with a clear error if it doesn't
- If the template ad has no Instagram identity of its own, the ad still builds but the Instagram "Paid partnership" label is omitted
